Dr. Abhishek Ray is a trusted and well-known Spine and Orthopedic Surgeon who has been helping patients with back, neck, and joint problems for over a decade.
He began his medical studies at JIPMER, Pondicherry, one of India’s top medical colleges, where he completed his MBBS degree. He then specialized in Orthopedic Surgery (MS Orthopedics) at MGM Medical College, Indore, where he learned how to treat bone, joint, and spine conditions. He subsequently completed his Senior Residency in Orthopaedics from Seth G S Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai.
After working in leading hospitals in Mumbai and Kolkata, Dr. Ray went to the United States for advanced training. He completed fellowships in Adult Joint Replacement and Trauma at the University of Louisville and further specialized in Spine Surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland. This allowed him to learn the latest techniques for treating complex spine problems in both adults and children.
Since 2012, Dr. Ray has been practicing at The Mission Hospital in Durgapur, where he leads a team that performs a high number of spine surgeries every month. He is an expert in treating slipped discs, spinal deformities like scoliosis and kyphosis, spine fractures, and nerve compression, using modern techniques like Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (MIS) and Endoscopy for faster recovery and less pain.
Dr. Ray is also actively involved in educating young doctors and conducting free health camps in Bengal, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Bihar, and even Bhutan, bringing quality spine care to more people.
Today, Dr. Abhishek Ray is regarded as one of the leading spine surgeons in the region, known for his honest advice, compassionate care, and advanced surgical skills that help patients return to active and pain-free lives.
